NESPRESSO X ASIA PIETRZYK

Packaging Design

BRIEF

This design discipline is based on interpretive thinking to conceptualise and visualise an innovative packaging concept that performs its primary function of packaging fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) while still possessing a valuable afterlife. Tasked with identifying how existing brand and product values may be communicated using the creative style of a specific artist or artistic movement, this discipline demonstrates that artistic expression and style are required for effective packaging design. 

DESIGN STRATEGY

A packaging redesign of my favourite product, Nespresso Original Coffee Capsules, and my favourite artist, Asia Pietrzyk. This collaboration creates a range of bright colours and interesting shapes in the form of patterns inspired by Pietrzyk’s design style for Nespresso’s top three flavours. For the packaging, the original Nespresso pods packaging is used but an inner is added, sliding out to be displayed in one’s home.
